French Development Agency (AFD) has signed MoUs with Chandigarh Administration on Chandigarh Smart City Project and ???Technical Cooperation??? in the field of Sustainable Urban Mobility.
The MoUs were signed by K K Jindal, Secretary, Transport, Chandigarh Administration and Minister Counsellor, Embassy of France in India, Jean Marc FENET and Director French Development Agency, Nicolas Fornage.
As per a statement, FENET assured the Chandigarh Administration that the Indo-French partnership would continue to address the issues related to Smart City Project (SCP) in order to achieve the vision of making Chandigarh a healthy, happy and happening city.
Fornage, during an Indo-French workshop, highlighted the ongoing cooperation of the agency in the areas of smart funds and smart ideas that would help the Chandigarh Administration to reach closer to its goals.
He emphasised on the AFD???s assistance to implement the Smart City project by providing recommendations on institutional operational and financial structuring of the project and by organising workshops between experts and Chandigarh authorities.
Baldeo Purushartha, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation-cum-Nodal officer Smart City stated that the Chandigarh Administration aims to make the city a vibrant and unique regional centre and leader in liveability, sustainability, equality and innovation.
