Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has allotted Rs 3273.25 crore for Metro projects, almost half of this year???s budget. Out of the allotted amount, Rs 1,000 crore each has been earmarked for Metro VII (Dahisar-Andheri) and Metro II-A (DN Nagar-Dahisar). Another Rs 800 crore has been allotted for the Metro III (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) underground corridor.
The MMRDA has also approved the new 13 km Dahisar east-Mira Road-Bhayander Metro IX, which will have 10 stations and cost Rs 6,518 crore.
The allocations for other route are Metro IV (Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund-Kasarvadavali) Rs 200 crore, Metro V (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan) Rs 5 crore, Metro VI (Swami Samarth Nagar-JVLR-Vikhroli) Rs 5 crore.
Additionally, the second phase of the Monorail corridor from Wadala to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk received an allocation of Rs 208 crore.
